Although Corbin Bernsen is busy these days directing (his latest movie Rust came out on DVD in October) and playing Shawn Spencer’s (James Roday) dad on the USA Network series Psych, Bernsen is not resting on his laurels.  Interviewed this week at Los Angeles’ Mondrian Hotel, Bernsen was promoting the action drama Across The Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright, a picture co-starring Aidan Quinn and Andy Garcia. This writer, however, remembers him best for the Major League films and, of course, L.A. Law. Instead of shying away from his past glories, Bernsen sat down and expressed his desire to revisit the always unpredictable Arnold Becker.   “L.A. Law was a sort of the face of the ’80s and the greed and the suits and the power and the cars and the drugs, the want it now society,” said Bernsen, who is also in the editing stages of another directing project, 25 Hill. “Arnie Becker was the person in that firm that was the face of the face of that firm in that regard.  Sort of represented a lot of people out there.  I would think it would be interesting, I’m 56.  And what is Arnie Becker like pushing 60?  Post Bernie Madoff, post economic collapse, post moral decay?  Actually, I don’t call it moral decay that sounds like a very right wing thing.  I call it moral ambivalence today.  Where does Arnie Becker fit into that?  What are the fumes left of that character trying to push forward into this new world?”  The actor is naming his proposed series On The Rocks, and click on the media bar and listen to him pitch the rather interesting idea:

As for Across The Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright, which centers on a white collar criminal (Aidan Quinn) hiding out in Tijuana from the Feds, the movie hits Blu-ray and DVD December 7th.
