As a lifelong radio enthusiast, I was heartened to learn that Rachel McAdams, she of the smile brighter than a thousand suns, is still an avid fan of what some critics are describing as a dying medium. “I listen to the radio,” said McAdams, who plays a TV producer in Morning Glory.  “Yeah, the first thing I do is turn on the radio to CBC in Canada.  And I’ve really gotten into podcasting too - Radiolab and This American Life.  I can’t believe I lived my life without that for so long.  So good.  So good.  And Moth, yeah that’s sort of what I’m doing these days.”  Ever since she sported a Dinosaur Jr. T-shirt in The Family Stone, this writer has been a supporter of all things McAdams, especially her turn as an ambitious print journalist (another dying profession!) in the first rate drama State of Play. If Morning Glory, which co-stars Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton, is half as good as Working Girl, I’ll be satisfied.  If you’re interested in how McAdams prepared for her role in Morning Glory (opening Friday), click on the media bar.
