“Best tornado intercept ever,” Discovery Channel said of the final episode of Storm Chasers with Matt Hughes. That episode aired last night.  It was only sparsely reported that four months earlier meteorologist Hughes took his own life.

Few knew that the reality show star suffered from depression.  Hughes hid his deep emotional issues from colleagues who were as shocked as they were saddened.

Hughes leaves a wife and two sons.
