For years we have heard that a GhostBusters III film was in the works. Last year, Harold Ramis told us that writers were hired to write the sequel, but then Bill Murray told Hollywoodoutbreak.com that it’s just a rumor.  Are those rumors finally becoming a reality?  Empireonline.com is now reporting that Sony Pictures has a possible production start date for the film of May, 2011.

The word is that the film will be a new generation of Ghostbusters, with the original Ghostbusters serving as their mentors.
