At one time he was the most popular film actor. He remains a household name despite quiet retirement. But today Sir Sean Connery is back in the headlines as a possible fugitive from justice.
It all has to do with failing to show up today in front of a Spanish judge over some land deal. The Costa del Sol court could declare an international arrest warrant against Connery.
The 80-year-old best-of-all James Bond faxed the magistrate that he has more trouble leaping over tall buildings than in 1964 and needs a little time to get his act together.
So, it’s up to the judge to grant celebrity justice or send in the Spanish commandos.
It all will likely end up with a Spanish official questioning Sir Sean at his Bahamas spread instead. And who knows, having interviewed the former 007, I think he’ll likely jump from the mansion’s top window as the cops break down his front door. We have a staff of reporters stationed around Connery’s compound where you’ll read and see it here first. What a way to go!
And what a way to fill a 207-word post on a slow Friday morning.
