Californication: The Third Season comes out on DVD November 9th, and in case you’re not up to date on the hedonistic and self-destructive misadventures of novelist Frank Moody (David Duchovny), the third season also has Kathleen Turner as Charlie Runkle’s (Evan Handler) sexually aggressive boss and Peter Gallagher as a stick in the mud college dean.  The season deals with Moody taking a job as a college professor after his writing career stalls, and in typical fashion he seduces (or maybe gets seduced by) his assistant (Diane Farr), the dean’s wife (Embeth Davidtz) and a student (Eva Amurri) who moonlights as a stripper.  Bonus features on the disc includes episodes from two other Showtime programs, The United States of Tara and The Tudors. The fourth season of Californication premieres on Showtime January 10th, and the upcoming episodes will feature Rob Lowe, Michael Ealy (Flash Forward), Callie Thorne (Rescue Me), and Tommy Lee.
