Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera return for another round of beatings and shenanigans with Jackass 3D (opening Friday). Even though the gang were being shot with a sophisticated Phantom 3D cameras by director Jeff Tremaine, Knoxville ensured the adolescent and cheerfully idiotic atmosphere of the Jackass universe would remain intact. “We (Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine) did some tests and decided we could do it,” said Knoxville. “But I don’t want me and the cast worrying about cameras. I don’t want to worry about not going too far over here or too close because that’s not how we shoot. I don’t want to worry about that (expletive) and (Jeff) heard it and we didn’t worry about the cameras at all. So it didn’t change the way we shot.” Click on the media bar and listen to Knoxville and Margera discuss the advantages of shooting with the Phantom camera. “We have a camera that’s worth like a million dollars and the first thing we shoot is us throwing a ball at Chris Pontius’ wiener and he’s trying to hit it and I’m trying to catch it in my mouth,” added Margera. “That’s what we wasted our time with.”
