Andrew Garfield Is "Spider-Man."
The Social Network star Andrew Garfield tackles his biggest role to date as webslinger Peter Parker in director Marc Webb’s (500 Days of Summer) reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) was just announced as Spidey’s latest nemesis (rumor has it that Ifans will either play The Vulture or The Lizard), and Emma Stone (Easy A) has been cast as Parker’s love interest, Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard played Gwen in Spider-Man 3). Garfield describes himself as a “massive fan” of Spider-Man and he says landing the role “means a great deal” to him.
