Life as We Know It stars Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl as two single adults who become the guardians of an orphaned girl after their mutual friends die in an accident. OK, so it’s formula, but that’s no reason to avoid the pic. Give it a chance if you’re in the market for a chick flick date movie.
Secretariat is the famed racehorse that won the triple crown in 1973, but the movie Secretariat is more about Penny Chenery, the owner of the celebrated thoroughbred. The pic stars Diane Lane in the lead role and John Malkovich, Scott Glenn, Dylan Walsh, James Cromwell and former Senator Fred Dalton Thompson are her co-stars. It’s a Disney pic…bring a hankie.
My Soul to Take revolves around a serial killer who returns to his hometown to stalk seven children who share a common birthday – which also happens to be the day the murderer was executed. The flick was written, produced and directed by horror master, Wes Craven. Don’t expect big names in the film because there aren’t any. But we should be able to expect big scares, shouldn’t we…especially in 3D? Well, we wouldn’t know, however, because Universal wimped out and decided not to screen the film for critics.
Craig (Keir Gilchrist) is a severely depressed 16 year old who gets a new beginning in life after he checks himself into an adult psychiatric ward in It’s Kind of a Funny Story. Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) leaves his past wacky personas at the door for a more serious performance.
