It Was Murder! The Globe screamed in tall flames with Gary Coleman’s ex-wife gruesomely hovering over the deathbed of ghoulishly comatose little Coleman. Today the breaking news is that it wasn’t murder, suicide or even drug-related. Gary Coleman died of natural causes, the coroner finally announced.
Unlike other troubled child actors, Coleman blamed himself as much as others who genuinely did him harm. “…from me to accountants to my adoptive parents, to agents to lawyers and back to me again.”
He didn’t drink or take drugs but suffered from a variety of ailments. At least two kidney transplants, heart surgery, frequent painful dialysis and at the end, several seizures.
Death occurred from a “closed head injury” after an accidental fall (perhaps from another seizure) on May 26, the Utah state medical examiner’s autopsy reported. When life support was removed two days later, 42-year old Coleman died.
Coleman may not have lived much longer anyway. The autopsy concluded that he suffered from severe artery blockage and chronic kidney failure.
