John Malkovich has loved horses since he was a kid in Benton, Ill., and in Secretariat the 56-year-old plays Hall of Fame trainer Lucien Laurin, the man who helped Secretariat win the 1973 Triple Crown.  The movie, which opens nationwide Friday, is being touted as this year’s The Blind Side, as Diane Lane is getting a bit of Oscar buzz for her work as Secretariat’s owner, Penny Chenery.  A press conference was held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Ca., and Malkovich, blessed with a droll sense humor, gave his thoughts on the comfort level of his Secretariat wardrobe.  “Well comfortable, yes, I mean 1973 I would have thought was really the nadir of the history of fashion,” said Malkovich.
