You Again, the story of a successful young woman who is horrified to learn her brother (Lone Star’s James Wolk) is marrying her high school nemesis (Odette Yustman), is now playing nationwide. The movie opens up with Bell as a teenager bullied by Yustman, and she uses that teenage pain to eventually excel as a career woman in her twenties. In real life, Kristen Bell really wasn’t bullied during her youth (who wants to mess with “Veronica Mars” anyway?), but a part of that reason originates from her days at a parochial school, where everyone seemed keep an eye on everybody’s business. You Again is getting really horrible reviews, but this writer actually found the film to be quite entertaining (bringing low expectations did help). Click on the media bar to hear Kristen Bell talk about the thankful lack of bullies during her younger days.
