Jimmy Smits as "Cyrus Garza." (NBC/Virginia Sherwood)
The freshman series Outlaw premiered last week and drew in an estimated 10.7 million viewers, and the show’s ratings success was partially due to its Wednesday night lead-in, the finale of America’s Got Talent. Can the NBC show, which features Jimmy Smits as a former Supreme Court justice who heads back to private practice, flourish tonight at its 10 pm et/pt time slot? Smits has carved out a first rate TV career (L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, The West Wing, Dexter), and hopefully Outlaw has stronger legs than his short-lived series Cane. The actor admits the workload on Outlaw can be a bit taxing, and click on the media bar to hear how he prepares for a hard day’s work on the series, which also stars Carly Pope (Popular) and Jesse Bradford (Flags of Our Fathers).
