Blair Underwood Looking Very Presidential!!

The NBC series The Event premieres tonight at 9 pm et/pt, and now that 24 is over and done with (c’mon do you really think a 24 movie is still going to happen?), a conspiracy show mixed in with tons of action and special effects should be a welcome fall addition.  Ever since his excellent turn as a troubled youth in The Education of Charlie Banks (which was directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, of all people), Jason Ritter has definitely been on this writer’s radar, and having a chance to headline his own show (albeit with the assistance of solid TV vets Blair Underwood and Damages’ Zeljko Ivanek) should provide a further boost for Ritter’s promising career.  Plus, does anyone really look beter in a suit than Mr. Underwood, aka the U.S. President in The Event? The stakes are high for this highly hyped series to succeed, but Underwood is very excited about the show’s prospects. For his sake one hopes this freshman show doesn’t suffer the same fate of last season’s heavily promoted ABC series, FlashForward.
