Mad Men actor Jon Hamm is one of the actors rumored to be up for the role of director/producer Christopher Nolan’s (Inception) version of Superman, according to online reports. Jonah Nolan, Christopher’s brother and writer of Nolan’s The Dark Knight and The Prestige, is rumored to be up for the directing job, but the chances of Warner Bros. risking their franchise on a novice is a bit dicey. Hamm would make a great, if not older, Clark Kent, but Christopher Nolan loves taking risks, and one would expect this version of Superman will be a touch darker than the Richard Donner and Richard Donner-lite (aka Bryan Singer) versions we have come to expect from the Man of Steel. Expect Jon Hamm to pop up in future Superman discussions, along with Chuck star Zachary Levi and mister Smallville himself, Tom Welling.
