Shelley Malil in a not so funny role

Star of  the comedy hit, The 40-Year-Old Virgin,  Shelley Malil, admits to stabbing his ex-girlfriend 23 times but pled not guilty at his trial.  And it’s not the insanity defense.  It’s because he thought she was someone else.  Premeditated attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and residential burglary are the charges.

“I’m sorry, I had no idea,” Malil testified yesterday. “I saw the pictures for the first time, I was stunned. When I look at those pictures, I still can’t believe the knife I was holding was responsible for all those injuries.”  An alternate defense may have been not guilty by reason of knife with evil intent of its own.  Don’t you hate it when you get that urge to stab someone endlessly by touching one of those butcher knives?
