Looks like Paris Hilton got a different shake when she went in and out of jail in Vegas recently. If you care, Hilton, 29 going on 12, said that (on August 27) when cocaine fell out of a purse in front of a detaining cop, it wasn’t her purse. And the cocaine baggy was gum, she reportedly thought. Hilton was swiftly escorted to the local jailhouse, charged with a felony and even more swiftly released. The whole thing took three hours.
Metro Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon told The Las Vegas Review-Journal, “Yeah, she was treated differently so I don’t have a disruption of my process here at the county jail,” Davis said without cracking a smile. “When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I’d have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I’d have disruptions.”
While all that’s a truth of a kind, Vegas bail bond veteran Jessica Murray said that “I could understand putting her in a separate room. But I don’t understand putting her above everyone else. If you’re alleged to commit a crime, you get treated like everybody else.”
Everybody else is four to 12 hours, followed by another four to 12 hours until release.
“She was moved along out of the general area and put in isolation where nobody can actually get to her…” Dixon said, perhaps smiling this time, in his mind. “As soon as (her O.R.) was pushed through, she was kicked out.”
Paris Hilton, now more famous than her namesake City of Lights, or the hotel chain that bears her bloodline, will discuss the entire comedy of errors in front of a star-struck judge on Oct. 27.
