Major Garrett, who has been a mainstay on FOX News Channel covering the White House, is moving on.

Garrett spent quite a bit of time Tweeting about his exit in the last couple of days including what riding on Air Force One was like: “Amazing. Most beautiful bird in the sky. No ride like it. Majesty of office ever-present” - and how he donated Caddyshack to the plane’s DVD library.

Garrett is headed to the National Journal as a print journalist saying the publication is “Full of excellent reporting on Congress, WH, P-gon, State, SCOTUS, agencies.”

The White House correspondent, who has been with the channel since 2002, will exit his post at the end of today.
