Gotta love a man who speaks his mind. In an interview for the TV newsmagazine, Inside Edition, funnyman Jerry Lewis got deadly serious when the subject of out-of-control actresses came up. His message was loud and clear, “I’d smack her in the mouth,” when asked what he thinks of Lindsay Lohan.

Lewis, who has been in showbiz for 60-plus years, has no use for celebrity for celebrity’s sake. He points out that the fans will only stick around so long…unless you give them a reason to stay. “They will go away,” the legendary performer tells IE’s Chief Correspondent Jim Moret.

Lewis is about to kick off his 44th year hosting the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon on TV, which has raised millions for MDA research. Last year the event brought in $60.4 million during the course of the 24-hour televised fundraiser. The MDA Telethon begins Sunday, September 5th, 9:00 p.m. ET and concludes Monday, September 6th, 6:30 p.m. EDT. Check listings.
