Good news for Meet the Parents fans, as Deadline.com reports that Dustin Hoffman has reached an agreement to shoot half a dozen new scenes for Little Fockers, had already wrapped and came in under budget (the picture still is costing at least $100 million!!). Hoffman was initially slated to star in the film, but contract talks broke down. Thankfully filmmakers/producers John Hamburg and Jay Roach (who directed the first two films) persuaded the Tootsie star to come back to the fold, and now the extra scenes will be shot in September. The big red flags for the film, other than the huge budget, lies in director Paul Weitz, whose last two films (American Dreamz, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant) were box-office disappointments. Universal needs a hit after the abject commercial failure known as Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.
