Christopher Gorham has his big shirtless, makeout scene tonight on Covert Affairs, but it wasn’t that long ago that he played less confident characters than Auggie Anderson.
“Auggie is very much a leading man character,” Gorham tells HollywoodOutbreak.com. “Adding that blindness into the mix and making him a disabled leading man character makes it so interesting. It’s that extra level of challenge that I have to do at work everyday that makes me really appreciate this gig.”

His career has taken off big time in the last year and despite starring on a weekly series, Gorham has also squeezed in a number feature films this year.
“The biggest reason I haven’t done more films is because I’ve always been on a TV show,” he says. “I had almost a full calendar year where I wasn’t working on a television show and so I was able to do four films. It’s been a wide variety of roles, I’ve been very blessed.”

Those films include Somebody’s Hero, Answer This!, My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend co-starring Beau Bridges, Alyssa Milano and Carol Kane and The Ledge starring opposite Liv Tyler and Terrence Howard. And Gorham is first to point out that working with that level of actors can raise his own game.
“When you’re working with people like Liv (Tyler) and really people like Piper Perabo, who is the lead on [Covert Affairs], it’s so encouraging because you see that they are so dedicated to what they do,” Gorham begins adding, “Not only are they good at what they do, but they work harder than anyone else. You see the passion and it’s the same passion that I have. It becomes a very exciting thing when you’re surrounded by people like that and Piper (Perabo) has that in spades. Nobody works harder than she does.”

Covert Affairs airs Tuesdays, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.
