Is Indiana Jones 5 in the works? Apparently so according to Shia LaBeouf, who told Showbizspy.com, ”They’re script writing right now.” Shia said, “I got called into Steven’s [Steven Spielberg] office and he pitched a little bit to me and it sounds crazy, it sounds really cool.”
Well, isn’t this an interesting turn of events? This is the same Shia LaBeouf who told the Los Angeles Times at The Cannes Film Festival, “I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished,” when he was asked about the 4th Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. LeBeouf also implied that legendary director, Steven Spielberg, should share the blame for making a sub-par movie, by saying, “You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven.”
Was LaBeouf on the right track when he made these comments about the previous Indiana Jones film, and if so, is he not a hypocrite for agreeing to star in the 5th installment of the Indiana Jones series? We really enjoyed the film and think LaBeouf’s comments were ill-conceived. But still, we question whether there really needs to be another Indiana Jones movie at all.
