Is it just mere coincidence that British actors like Hugh Laurie and Tim Roth have flourished on television (not to mention fellow Brit Simon Cowell’s prodigious success)?  Is there a dearth of talent stateside??  We posed the question to Roth, who gave us pretty much a non-answer, as he said Brits have been getting stable Hollywood gigs since Cary Grant’s days.  A new episode of Roth’s show, Lie to Me, airs tonight on Fox at 8 pm et/pt.  And speaking of Cary Grant, if you haven’t seen North By Northwest or Arsenic and Old Lace, queue up your Netflix pronto.
