Director Oliver Stone

Oscar©-winning director Oliver Stone in a Mel Gibson-like moment said that the “Jewish domination of the media” was responsible for America’s fixation with the Holocaust, and they are “the powerful lobby in Washington…Israel has f****d-up United States foreign policy for years.”   All of this from a secret phone tap?  Actually it was from an interview today with the Sunday Times (London) where he talked with reporter Camilla Long.   Stone also said that he’ll put in historical context where Hitler and Communist dictator Joseph Stalin should stand.  Stone said that all this will be sorted out in his Secret History of America documentary on Showtime. Much of the blame of Hitler belongs to others, like Dr. Frankenstein being responsible for Frankenstein, Stone said, including the monstrous doctors America and Britain. 

Stone has taken controversial stands on other issues including his criticism of the “horrible” way that America treated Iran, after recently meeting with Iranian President Ahmadinejad. He has extravagantly praised Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and said that “there’s no pattern of censorship in (Venezuela),” while peddling his South of the Border documentary.

Oliver Stone may be selling tickets for his various projects, but even a true artist might realize that there are often unintended consequences with your art, even if you are on the left.  Even if you’re as big as Mel Gibson.
