We’re getting our first taste of what to expect from Chef Gordon Ramsay’s new competitive series Masterchef…literally.

 

Fox has released a few of the recipes scheduled to be featured on the show – and these are signature dishes from the contestants.

 

The group of chef wannabes - home cooks from all over the country - will prepare their yummy dishes and serve it up to the three judges: Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot. The dish that is awarded the coveted Masterchef apron will be guaranteed the contestant a spot in the next round of competition.

Suzzette James Tilapia Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa

 

Ingredients:

Four Tilapia filets, pan-seared

One lemon, zest, juice

Six limes, zest, juice

One bunch cilantro, minced

One bunch green onions, minced

One head of red cabbage, Shred

Five to six medium tomatoes, dice, scoop out middles

Two large shallots, minced

Three cloves garlic, paste

Two large avocados, sliced

Three to four mango, diced

One bag frozen corn, warm on stove top

One package herbed goat cheese, crumbled

One package corn tortillas, steam to warm

One cup heavy whipping cream, whip to cream

One cup powdered sugar, blended

One to two package blackberries, garnish/side


Preparation:

Make corn salad by adding corn, tomatoes, cilantro, lime zest, 1/2 lime juice, and 1/4 tsp salt, and 2 shallots. Combine and fill inside hollowed tomato shell. Top with goat cheese. Make mango salsa by combining mangos, tomatoes, cilantro, green onions, and 2 cloves of garlic, salt and olive oil to taste. Pan-sear Tilapia 3 – 4 minutes and side with seasoning and olive oil. Create fish taco with steamed tortillas, Tilapia, red cabbage, and mango salsa. Serve with sliced avocados.

 

Dessert: Fresh cream with 1/2 lemon juice, lemon zest, and powdered sugar. Serve with mango slice and fresh blackberries.
