Law & Order: SVU is getting a new ADA. Paula Patton, who starred as sympathetic teacher, Ms. Rain in the Oscar-nominated feature Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire, will join the cast of the drama in a multi-episode stint as “charming and savvy” ADA Mikka Von.

Patton, who is currently filming Jumping the Broom for Sony Pictures, is one of several ADAs on the series with most of the shifting beginning with the original exit of longtime cast member Stephanie March.

Law & Order: SVU is enters its 12th season on NBC this fall.
