Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes lost his appeal yesterday against a three-year jail sentence for tax evasion.  And if the Blade star finds his way into prison he will likely do the whole time, contrasting Lindsay Lohan who escaped with a fortnight in the slam instead of the sentenced 90 days.  Reason is that Snipes broke a federal crime, and you can’t dumb-down a fed rap.

The government claimed that Snipes deliberately failed to file tax returns for 1999 through 2001, reportedly amounting to $12 million in back taxes.  He earned more than $37 million from 1999-2004.

Snipes fought to have a dismissal or at least a new trial, but what he got instead was a promise he would get a firm date when to enter the joint.  The 47-year old action actor will be 50 when he returns from the jailhouse, if everything goes well.
