According to Variety The chess match and conniving mind games between “Patty Hewes” (Glenn Close) and “Ellen Parsons” is far from over, as DirecTV struck a deal with Sony Pictures Television to keep Damages on for another two seasons.  However, unlike DirecTV’s deal with NBC for Friday Night Lights, Damages will be show to only DirecTV subscribers.  DirecTV also purchased the rerun rights to Damages, which received five Emmy Award nods for its third season, including Lead Actress and Supporting actress nominations for Close and Byrne.  “We’re excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television as we breathe new life into this outstanding drama,” said DirecTV vp of entertainment Patty Ishimoto in a statement.  “It’s a win for our customers because only they will be able to see these new episodes and another great step forward for DirecTV as we continue to build our growing portfolio of exclusive, award winning programming.”
