Director Christopher Nolan believes that he could not have made Inception 10 years ago, especially since the movie has such an ambitious scope.  Telling a story about the power of dreams demanded more sophisticated special effects and mature storytelling from Nolan, and the filmmaker says Inception was made during the right time of his creative journey.
