From what I understand, Joan’s late husband and Melissa’s father was a pretty amazing and accomplished man whose family escaped the Nazi’s when he was a child.

Certainly the fateful mistake he made by ending his life does not define his otherwise great life.

I think Melissa Rivers gets a pretty bum rap most of the time. Obviously she’s dealt with a lot of tragedy and it can’t always be easy living in her mother’s professional shadow. Seems to me that a lesser woman could easily have gotten caught up in drugs and partying a’ la Lindsay Lohan. It’s a real testament to her character and the way she obviously was raised.

That said, Joan can adopt me anytime! It would be like having Auntie Mame as a mom! How fabulous!
