Big changes underway for Hulu. The website is adding fresh content to their collection of videos that they’re hoping will entice fans of Hulu to pay for their new subscription service. Hulu Plus will provide video you won’t get from the basic videos currently on the site and it’s being delivered in a number of ways.
“We’re taking Hulu to all the devices that people use in the lives,” says Jason Kilar, CEO Hulu. “They include things like the iPad, the iPhone, game consoles like Playstation, Wii and X-Box. Basically any device that’s connected to the Internet and has a screen we think is a great opportunity for Hulu.”
It’s a gamble, the cost is $9.95 a month, but Kilar expects people will easily pay for the service.
“There were a number of concerns that we had going into this,” he begins adding, “We didn’t want Hulu to go away. Hulu service isn’t going away and it’s only going to get bigger. We wanted to make sure that the value for the subscription service was there and the overwhelming response is yes based on what we’re hearing from consumers.”
