The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has announced that Oscar-winning Producer Bruce Cohen (American Beauty) and Emmy-winning TV Producer/Director Don Mischer (The Kennedy Center Honors) will co-produce with Mischer directing the 83rd Academy Awards telecast. This is the first time both men have been involved with the Oscar production.

The Academy is proving once more that they’re committed to shaking up the awards ceremony. Adam Shankman (Hairspray) and Bill Mechanic (Coraline) produced by the 82nd Oscars. Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) and Laurence Mark (Dreamgirls) took the reigns of the 81st Academy Awards. Cohen and Mischer are the latest in the growing effort to spice up the telecast.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented on Sunday, February 27th, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation will also be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
