Sean Astin has starred as Samwise Gamgee (Sam to his friends), a Hobbit in the hugely successful Lord of the Rings pics. What could possibly top that? How about his role on the Disney Channel animated series, Special Agent Oso? Apparently that show has made him a genuine star with his daughters.

“He’s theirs,” he tells us. “Maybe a little extra special because your dad is Oso and Oso is your dad.”

And like the rest of the fans of the show, Astin’s girls want the scoop on what’s next for Oso – and they’re willing to pump hard to squeeze that info out of him.

“They always want to know what Oso’s doing,” Astin explains adding. “They say, ‘What was your mission today?’ ”

Astin loves that his daughters understand the strong lessons on the show, too, which range from what to do if you’re lost to the benefits of honesty.
