Season seven of So You Think You Can Dance is making changes for the better starting with the return of a number of the favorite contestants from past years.
What’s the plan? Instead of the new contestants picking dance genres out of a hat, they’ll actually be choosing dancers like Courtney Galiano, who rocked the house with her contemporary style and adorable personality in season four to be partnered up with for a specific dance style. And Galiano tells HollywoodOutbreak.com she’ll be ready to cut a serious rug with the newbies while still reminding them that they’re worthy of participating on the show - and that’s a big deal for her.
“I think being able to help my partner through the whole thing and really support my partner is great because that totally would have helped me when I was there,” Galiano stresses. “You’re constantly doubting yourself questioning, ‘Oh my gosh, am I good enough to be here?’ If I had known what to expect it would have been better. It definitely makes you stronger, but I’m totally looking forward to just giving my partner a hug and going, ‘You’re supposed to be here. You were chosen out of thousands and thousands of dancers. Just be yourself.’ I think that’s a wonderful constant reminder for them because you really are under an insane amount of pressure.”
As for the changes in the show, well Galiano’s onboard for that, too adding, “I think it’s going to be a really amazing change for the show and change is always good.”
So You Think You Can Dance continues with the auditions beginning tonight, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
