If you were watching Criminal Minds Wednesday night, you know what a utterly frightening finale that was.
Tim Curry played a serial killer who hunts his victims in the dark, but it had a more sinister plot than just those murders. And Curry pulled out the stops to make the predator as disturbing as possible with his filthy teeth and scruffy appearance.
The episode left us wondering if the BAU team will actually catch the perp before he kills a police detective’s daughter. We were also left questioning if that cop (Eric Close) really died or was critically wounded, but holding on.
We’ll have to wait until the fall to find out what happens, but according to Joe Mantegna, who stars as Agent Rossi on the series, the BAU usually manages to get their guy.
“All I can tell you is we’ll all be back and my feeling is we’ll figure this out,” the actor begins adding, “We’ve got a pretty good track record of coming back from the grimmest kinds of situations, so we’ll hope for the best for the first show of next season.”
Still, there was never any doubt in his mind that Curry would make his role as sinister as he did.
“Tim Curry is a consummate actor and I’m not surprised that he would come off as creepy as we hoped he would.”
Criminal Minds, which grabbed 12.8 million viewers for the season ender, returns to CBS in the fall.
