Who knew that after years of taking his knocks on Saturday Night Live and numerous physical comedies like Vacation and Caddy Shack that Chevy Chase would return to his roots in a sitcom surrounding a community college study group? Well, that’s exactly what the king of pratfalls has gotten himself into with his starring role as Pierce Hawthorne on Community, which has its series finale tonight (NBC, 8 p.m. ET/PT). With its mile-a-minute, slapdash humor, Community has won over a legion of fans and has essentially given Chase a whole new group of fans. But it comes at a cost. At the ripe, young age of 66 years old the actor is doing his own stunts on the show, which he even sees as an oddball turn of events.

Gillian Jacobs, who stars as study-group hottie, Britta, on the sitcom, tells HollywoodOutbreak.com that the season finale will be equally physical – and a scorcher.

Britta, who is caught up competing for the attention of Jeff Winger (Joe McHale) with Professor Slater (Lauren Stamile), will mix it up again for the finale. But, that’s only a fraction of the action happening tonight.

“There is a beauty pageant involving Britta,” she begins. “There is some obvious tension between Britta (Jacobs), Professor Slater (Lauren Stamile) and Jeff (Joe McHale), a giant cookie and maybe some people dressed as Dalmatians.”

The Community finale begins 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
