A lot of people were shocked when Elizabeth Hasselbeck commented about Erin Andrews’ skimpy costumes on Dancing with the Stars. Hasselbeck suggested that had Andrews’ Peeping Tom just waited for her appearance on the popular show, he could have seen all of her without the jail time. (Michael David Barrett is currently doing 30 months in prison for secretly taping the ESPN reporter sans clothes and posting it to the Internet.)

It was hurtful to Andrews to be sure and Hasselbeck has since apologized for her insensitive comment, which DWTS host Tom Bergeron believes is genuine.

He knows both Andrews and Hasselbeck and is convinced The View co-host was simply making a joke that fell flat.
