NBC is aggressively padding their primetime schedule with a group of new scripted dramas set for the fall.
The newest entry is Chase, from prolific producer, Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean/CSI/Amazing Race). The series follows a group of U.S. Marshalls as they hunt down America’s most dangerous criminals.
The cast boasts of Kelli Giddish, Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Rose Rollins and Jesse Metcalfe.
The net had been behind the 8Ball this year by green-lighting last season’s ill-fated primetime experiment The Jay Leno Show.
Now that Leno is back where he belongs (11:35 p.m. ET/PT), NBC has filled the gap with a lot of repeats of the various Law & Order incarnations and reality TV.
Chase, which is one of five new scripted shows set for NBC’s 2010-2011 season, demonstrates the net’s desire to get back in the game vigorously. Undercover, The Event, Love Bites and Outsourced were all previously announced.
