Lynn Redgrave, whose best known roles are her Oscar-nominated performances in  Georgy Girl and Gods and Monsters,has died.

The actress came from an acting dynasty. Redgrave is the granddaughter of Roy Redgrave, daughter of actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, is the younger sister of Vanessa Redgrave and Corin Redgrave and is the aunt of Natasha Richardson, Joely Richardson, Carlo Gabriel Nero, Luke Redgrave and Jemma Redgrave.

Redgrave had battled breast cancer in 2003 then succumbed to the disease Sunday in her Connecticut home.

Her death comes just a year after her niece Natasha Richardson died fro a head injury while skiing and a mere month after her brother Corin Redgrave died.

Lynn Redgrave was 67 years old.

Update: Redgrave’s longtime publicist Rick Miramontez released this statement: Actress and Playwright, Lynn Redgrave passed away peacefully last night at her home in Connecticut. Her children Ben, Pema and Annabel and close friends were by her side.”

Her children added: “Our beloved mother, Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven-year journey with breast cancer. She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives.
