Ridley ‘Black Hawk Down’ Scott, wasting time on a pointless,
done-to-death retread like this —even as Hollywood looks
the other way as millions continue to suffer and die FOR REAL

Ridiculous comment.
Especially when Crowe played a neo-Nazi skinhead and a gay plumber back to back.
And Gladiator was a huge leap of faith that could have turned out to be laughable.

So you didn’t see Virtuosity or Body of Lies then ….?

All of them have had their share of utter bombs. Ridley and Russell together have bombed more than once so there is far from a “bound to create a brilliant film” situation here. In fact, the previews are getting more negative reviews than positives.
I just don’t understand Ridley at all. He is wasting his last years as a director. Russell I understand because he’s never been an adventurous and risk taking actor. He tends to play it safe and he usually insists on being a hero. Though for Russell he’s been severely limited in his choices for years now but then he did that to himself. He needs a financial hit or his days of anything like a big pay day are over and he was just getting back to that level after years of lower pay as it is.
This is a pass for me at the theater but I’ll probably give it a go on DVD.

I have to say Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, and Ridley Scott together, are bound to create a brilliant film. I love all of Russell Crowe’s movies. I loved Gladiator, so i’m going to have to love Robin Hood. 2 weeks until it hits theaters! I can’t wait!
