Laura Bell Bundy got a royal kick off to her new, Achin’ and Shakin’ CD. The singer-songwriter performed Giddy on Up at the Academy of Country Music Awards just days after her album dropped.
It was unimaginable for Bundy, who says the experience was exciting…and exhausting. After all, it takes major stamina to sing and dance simultaneously. And though her training is on the Broadway stage, in shows like Legally Blonde and Wicked, where music and movement go hand in hand, the ACMs had none of the hidden breaks that are so important to recouping breath.
And Bundy is Country at her core. She’s had amazing opportunities on the New York stage, but writing music for a Country music audience gets her creative juices flowing. And with every song but one on her album having been composed by Bundy, it’s obvious she’s talented and dedicated.
