Avatar is hitting DVD while it is still raking in box office and it’s best to see James Cameron’s masterpiece on the big screen. However, if you’re only going to see the pic on home video this is your chance, but Blu-ray is probably your best choice – all two hours, 42 eye-popping minutes of it.

lovelybones

The Lovely Bones is Peter Jackson’s dreamy big screen flick about a young girl who is murdered, and who watches the aftermath from heaven. This is not a feel good movie, but there is a haunting quality that draws you in. Check out Stanley Tucci’s Oscar-nominated performance as the pedophile/murderer – a utterly creepy interpretation.

cheechchong

Before Harold and Kumar went to White Castle there was Cheech and Chong. And it’s their Light Up America Reunion Tour that makes up the new documentary, Cheech and Chong’s Hey Watch This. Cheech and Chong were the first and the best of the stoner comedy teams.

merlin

Merlin: The Complete First Season is five discs strong of the legendary sorcerer – but as a young man. Nice special effects.

falconcrest

Falcon Crest: The Complete First Season is the first year of the nighttime soap opera. The show was filled with intrigue and backstabbing among a wealthy family who own a vinery in California’s central valley. The series starred Oscar winner Jane Wyman as the family’s no-nonsense matriarch.

hercules

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys - Season One, stars Kevin Sorbo as the half-man, half-god son of Zeus. But, really all you need to know about this series is that there is plenty of butt-kicking among muscular shaped men – a plus for guys who love action and women who love watching rippling muscles.
