The pairing of Steve Carell and Paul Rudd should equate to instant hilarity, correct?  Its a perfect pairing, kind of like hot apple pie and vanilla ice cream (a la mode goodness!!).  Plus doing a remake of the hilarious French film The Dinner Game is also a good idea with two talented leads.  The movie centers on an exec (Rudd) who, in order to rise up the corporate ladder, must find a schmuck (Carell) to bring to dinner and impress his rather heartless colleagues.  The movie, directed by Meet The Parents Jay Roach (think of him as a funnier version of A Night at the Museum and Date Night filmmaker Shawn Levy), could be a good movie. But judging from this trailer, laughter, humor, and nuance may have taken a summer vacation!!  The movie opens July 23rd, and one hopes Mr. Carell finds his way back into a Judd Apatow film.
