So, if only one vote per person actually happened, Katie would still be on the show? Too bad for her, but I'm guessing the others are happy for the obsessed fans.

It seems the ratings of the show this year reflect the opinions you express. The absence of Paula Abdul also still bugs people. Still, as you heard from the post, Simon Cowell expected Andrew to go all along.

A series of national studies conducted among 8,110 American Idol viewers revealed that the elimination of contestant Katie Stevens during the show’s elimination last night did not accurately reflect the viewers’ choice. Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia were rated as most likely to be eliminated by viewers. The study parallels American Idol voting to determine the weekly winners based on a democratic, “one person, one vote” methodology.

Seeing Adam Lambert on last night's episode made me sad that this year's caliber of contestants doesn't seem even remotely near that of last year...but with that said, I think the results were pretty fair - Andrew has deserved to go for a while, and Katie was not going to win (if we're going to be honest with ourselves). I don't this week changes much up, with the big exception of Tim Urban...power rankings for this week: http://thesmogger.com/2010/04/15/idol-hangover-the-lucky-7/
