The movie is going to be awesome! I’m a huge fan of Russell Crowe, and FYI, he is going to top Errol Flynn, he’s so much more sexier than that guy, and he’s the best actor of his time!

I agree that Flynn is definitely the Robin Hood to beat (ala "Best Bond Since Connery" being said of everyone from George Lazenby onwards showing Sean Connery as the definitive James Bond). Flynn's long shadow is probably why tights remain in the popular memory even though most versions (that aren't comedies or cartoons, that is) haven't gone with tights and a feathered hat for 40 years. That said, there have been quite a few respectable Robin Hoods -- including Richard Greene from 1950s TV Adventures of Robin Hood, Michael Praed and Jason Connery from the 1980s Robin of Sherwood, Patrick Bergin from the other Robin Hood film of 1991 (better Robin and Marian, but worse bad guys than the Costner film) and of course, Sean Connery himself. Connery Sr. played an older Robin back from the Crusades in 1976's Robin and Marian. Allen W. Excuse me? I really don't think you can compare his comedic performance to anything Crowe does. (And Cary managed to be a far better Robin Hood than Costner, even while playing it for the laughs).
