Date Night, starring Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Steve Carell (The Office) is a fantasy gone awry for the married with kids set.

The title sets up the premise of this action comedy about the Fosters, a bored married couple looking to reinvigorate their relationship by venturing out of the predictable routine of their once a week date.  They decide to switch things up by avoiding their usual neighborhood eatery and instead head out for the hottest new restaurant in New York City, sans reservation.   Of course they can’t get a table, but already feeling a bit daring, they steal someone else’s reservation and thus begins a night of mishaps, mistaken identity, danger, adventure, and an actually pretty cool car chase.  All of which provides some good laughs and the occasional groan.

If it’s been a while since you’ve shared a nice chuckle with your spouse, going to see Date Night just might be a good date movie.
