How strange is it that Freddy Krueger is considered so sacred of a character that shouldn’t be toyed with? Pretty odd is the answer. But, that’s exactly what Jackie Earle Haley is doing as he assumes the role as the maniac dream murderer in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Haley was shocked that fans on the Internet actually thought he was a good replacement for Robert Englund, but he also knows that this is going to be a different take on the twisted tale. Plus, the actor is even more surprised that he’s getting so many unique characters in the first place whether it’s Freddy Krueger or even Rorschach in The Watchmen flick.
