Clash of the Titans pulled in an estimated $64,055,000 in receipts between Good Friday and Sunday. That makes the flick the highest movie debut for the Easter weekend. Certainly 3-D helped those numbers and it’s clear audiences can’t get enough of that medium, despite tough scrutiny from critics who were unimpressed with the conversion from 2-D to 3-D.
While Tyler Perry’s comedy, Why Did I Get Married Too? grabbed the second place slot with $30,1 million. Perry seems to know exactly what the audience is looking for and, despite constant hits critically, the filmmaker’s pics always do well with moviegoers.
How to Train Your Dragon dropped 33.2-percent to take third place with $29.2 mil in receipts.
And the Miley Cyrus drama, The Last Song struck a chord with moviegoers, but only managed fourth place. It still grabbed a respectable $25.5 million in estimated receipts.
Alice in Wonderland dropped off 53.3-percent this week, but still took in $8.2 million inching it closer to the half-billion mark worldwide with an estimated total of $309,793,000.
Rounding out the top 10:

8. Diary of a Wimpy Kid $5.524 mil
