Famed auction house, Christie’s is having an event in support of Earth Day.

Known for their environmental advocacy, Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, Tobey Maguire, Salma Hayek, Candice Bergen, Alec Baldwin, Sam Waterston, Brooke Shields, Sigourney Weaver, Cameron Diaz, Ted Danson, Kyra Sedgwick, James Taylor and Michael Stipe are just some of the stars who will all be heading down Christie’s green carpet, planting their fannies in the seats in A Bid to Save the Earth.

And funnyman, Chevy Chase will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Christie’s, along with NBC Universal, Barneys New York and Charity Buzz are hosting the event to raise funds for four, environmental not-for-profit organizations. Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International and Central Park Conservancy will all be the beneficiaries of the funds raised during the auction.

A Bid to Save the Earth auction takes place on the 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day, April 22nd, 2010.

However, you too can bid on the items. There will be an online companion silent auction from April 8th through May 6th.
