Actress Kate Winslet and Director Sam Mendes have split. The couple have been married since May 24th, 2003 and have one child together, a son, Joe. Winslet has a daughter, Mia, from a previous marriage.

Though the news is just now being revealed, Winslet and Mendes have actually been separated since the beginning of the year.

Both have Academy Awards. Winslet for her performance in the 2008 drama The Reader – Mendes for directing American Beauty in 1999.

No word yet on whether divorce proceedings have begun or not.
